It is the same vaccine that the military has been using for years. About 0.2% of subjects have side effects that include swelling at the site of injection, some fatique, but these symptoms last the first 2-3 days. Statistically, females develop the symptoms more often than males, but it is not definite. Actually, the purpose of this study is to better understand the side effects of males and females to the anthrax vaccine. Again, there are no major side effects, except for the first couple of days. There was a rumor, that this vacine was responcible for "Gulf War" sindrom. Many in armed services refused to take it and were dismissed. By the way, why anyone would need more human test subjects if there are millions of them in US Army ? Your collegue just need to find this information from Pentagon :)))

Gulf war syndrom is just a rumor, as far as I know. This study is sponsored by CDC, not the government directly. The information from Pentagon is very old, plus the purpose of the study is to monitor effects on males and females (and that ratio in US military is somewhat unproportional). Also, the side effects need to be monitored for the first 2-3 years, and Pentagon does not have that kind of information. ~~Success is getting what you want. Happiness is liking what you get.~~

Natasha! I have an idea but ppl please don't steal it from me. We can rent a bus, go to the flea market plaza, pick up 20 mexicans and ride them to CDC. I am sure they would get a shot in the butt for $100. $1,400 x 20 = $28,000. Then it's a CDC problem to monitor them. Then next day we come back, get another 20. Well, if it is a rumor it's a good one. Couple Senat investigations, about 100000 or more thinking they have one. EU investigations, Canada..... Several papers by US doctors... Scary :)))) By the way, since you are working in the biomed field - how is the situation with AIDS cure, cancer and so on ? :)

AIDS cure - currently enlisting volunteers for the AIDS vaccine study cancer- it'll be a loooong time before there will be a cure for that and so on - i fear a long discussion, therefore i'll save you the details. but rest assured, the taxpayers money are going towards really good use (for example, my salary and other expenses, hehe) Now that you all are up to date on the latest developments in the biomedical field, doesn't that just feel good? ~~Success is getting what you want. ok, people, listen up ! forget anthrax, been there, done that...i was cleaning my fridge today, on upper shelf found something i could not identify, it's sticky, glows in the dark and smells like toohpaste...i think we got to study that thing, it may be a cure from all above mentioned deseases or something...volonteers may PM me, to qualify please have medical insurance and proof of prepaid funeral expences..the monetary compensation is $19.99 and wil be paid to survivors only....
