Well, used to be the Day of the Soviet Army, now its called the day of the Defender of the Homeland, or something like that. Still, its the same meaning, but the reference to the "Soviet Army" is gone. And yes, it a men's holiday, so the fellow female soldiers have to wait until March 8th - the International Women's Day (still don't know why it's called international - haven't heard of it being celebrated anywhere else other than former USSR region)
