AHTOH:Republican voter base is like that high school slüt - she fücks with every single crazy character out there and the end she runs back to Romney. He better wear rubber on his ballot, it's all I'm going to say about this...
Oh, don't be mean! They really, REALLY don't like this Obama guy... They are just not sure who can defeat him better. After all, they only get one shot at it.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
They'll succumb to the inevitable and suffer quietly I guess.
Or concentrate on getting the Senate and supermajority in House. Which is
likely, given that the economy is not booming. Then, if a Republican is elected
in 2016, that's when the real screwage will commence...
I am not sure how I can survive another term of Obama
surrendering on every front. I really hope that by 2016 I will not need some socialized
medicine...
It's all our fault, really. We the people elected divided
government, and are now all surprised that nothing gets done!

Divided government is ok when it's people vs people. It's a democracy, we can't all agree on everything. What we have now is powerful multi-nationals vs people, this is why it's unsustantable...
PS. True on the surrendering. I feel like it's Bush 3rd term at times...

I doubt it’s that clear. Since when are the democrats so
different from the republicans? It’s two large groups of businesses fighting it
out. Just like always. We don't even have a populist out there, much less a true democrat...

Re: Herman Cain for President?
I suspect you have your own special definition of “fascist”,
just like you had one for taxes…
I see very few connections between Democrats
and interests of poor people. No one gives a twopence about the poor, myself
included. Screw them twice!
I care about quality public services. Especially
those that are absent - good public transportation, properly functioning
schools, affordable healthcare… and I hate institutionalized screwage -- such
as credit cards. That’s my position. At the moment, the Democrats seem to be a
better fit.
Philosophically, I am against bullshit. The Republicans seem to be
full of it these days.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
Where is a leader that would come out and openly say "My fellow Americans, we are in deep shyte. There are no silver bullets, magic gawd powder, tax cut plans or anything else that would help ease the economic pain. For too long, as a nation, we have been living on borrowed time and dime, living off tomorrow's earnings, pulling the demand forward and engaging in supply side economics which proved to be unsustainable. This nation is overdue an extensive overhaul of its trade, fiscal and economic policies."
I would vote for such person in a heartbeat, but how many votes would they get in total?

I'd appreciate this kind of language. But who would join in a coalition with such candidate? It would mean a certain failure in elections down the road. That has always been what happens to those who implement painful measures. We want solutions and bliss, not austerity measures.
Hm… As I recall fascists took pretty good care of their people! Healthcare, schools, maternity leave, vacations, all sorts of everyday rights & privileges. I don’t care who owns industry or government, it won’t be me, that’s for sure!

mkgilstrap:Capitalism has eaten itself out??? KGB, what do you call what the asians are using to take our jobs away??? I'll let you know.... Capitalism.
You assuming 2 things : 1. Asians will somehow win in this. 2. What they have in China is capitalism. Both are wrong assumptions.

I think the saddest thing is that Mark thinks that changing trade laws and purposefuly offshoring to the communist China is capitalism. I recently met another right wing dolt on the interwebs, he told me China had Capitalist Dictatorship, not Communism.

Re: Herman Cain for President?
Who cares what to call polilitcal/economic/social order in China? One thing's for sure, it's uniquely Chinese. The important thing is its impact on our life here. And of course, Cain is unelectable. He'll fade.
