Re: Judge blocks part of controversial Arizona immigration law
Egor:II, let me try.. Although i don't have as pathological and powerful hatred for her as Anton and KGBman do, I don't like her because she does not seem knowledgeable or intelligent an any issue. I can google "dumb palin quotes" and start posting them here, but you and I both know you can do this with any public figure. Hers, though, are more flagrant, and don;t have to be polled out of context from thousands of speeches. They are in every other sentence of every speech someone else did not write, and extremely flagrant. I may agree with her (as you do) on a number of issues. However, I feel that these are forced by the political niche she wants to carve out for herself, often not genuine, are not conclusions of personal intellect (or worse, are), and therefore not trustworthy in any high-stakes game like politics. To me she is the flip side of Hillary Clinton, a cut-throat appeaser of electorate without substance, except of considerably lower intellect. If you do want quotes, I can do that.
Egor, I appreciate your response. I did Google "stupid Palin quotes", and some things were of course somewhat stupid, some lack of 'at hand' knowledge (like in an interview not remembering the name of a senator that she should know, etc). Of course to keep things even, I also Googled "stupid Bill Clinton quotes", "stupid Obama quotes" and "Stupid Al Gore quotes". Of course all of them have pages and pages of stupidity (just like Palin), though clearly the winner of the group appears to be Al Gore. But, you said all of this, so you were prepared. So your argument at the end is that though all these people will have an abundance of stupid quotes (I think most of the time it is being caught off-guard and perhaps at the same time not being a master public speaker), Palin's quotes are more stupid than average and happen more frequently. I cannot argue with this, because I truly don't know, and this is actually hard to research (or very time consuming). But I am not saying that this is not the case. I am just saying that I don't have enough info to agree or disagree. Your other point was (basically) that she is not genuine, and I think I am not wrong if I assume you meant she is an opportunist. Which is not a good trait to have as a politician. That was actually a problem I had with McCain, which I noticed in 2000 (or whenever he ran against Bush). Again, about her opportunism or non-genuine character I also have no opinion as I have not watched her (or read about her) enough to know whether or not this is true. But let's grant your points for argument's sake. Let's say she makes more and stupider comments than the average big-time, well-known politician, and she is not genuine. Ok. But there are handfuls of people just like that in both parties who often end up being these 'mascots' because a big number of people are drawn to these figures and in truth, they bring in the numbers, overall. I can appreciate this point, but I don't understand why Sarah Palin in particular, over all the others, seems to stand out. Comments like, "Oh my gawd, republican party is doomed because of Palin" or "XXXX organization sucks because Palin spoke at one of their events". Seriously? I mean, Palin is equated to the level of a nazi war criminal where some people find ANY association with her to be the last unforgivable sin. I think this is highly exaggerated. Ok, so she makes some dumb statements, etc. I still don't get what the craze is all about. Though I do not like to throw around racism, I honestly feel (though I am not sure if this is right, it's just a thought in my head with a question mark) that she is more singled out than others because she is a female and that sexism plays a role in the exaggeration of how horrible Sarah Palin is. If she was a former male governor people would label him as just another loon (I mean people like Anton) but wouldn't really dwell on it too much. Again, with the sexist comment: maybe I am wrong. It's just a thought. Again, thanks for explaining.

Re: Judge blocks part of controversial Arizona immigration law
Look, she's fine looking and even perhaps "doable", but she is a total "blond"!
Not knowing the name of a senator, or thinking Africa is a country is only half of it. What had she actually accomplished? She didn't even complete her governor tenure, she just quit to go make money speaking in front of large audiences of ignoramuses about things she has no clue about. Even those in McCain's camp have admitted that having her on the ticket was a mistake, btw...But like I said, she looks "milfy" in those specs and designer clothes! What else would one want, right?

Re: Judge blocks part of controversial Arizona immigration law
Ok, she is blond, she is 'doable', and looks 'milfy'.....seriously, Anton? You're going down to that level that you're going to comment on her physical appearance? Milfy? I mean, dude, I really can't stand Hillary Clinton, Nancy Peloci, and Barbara Boxer, but never has it even crossed my mind to lower myself to your level and discuss how good looking or ugly they are or how they dress or even whether or not I would 'do' them.....honestly, that's very sexist of you. It shows me what a hyprocrite you are. You talk about racism left and right, without even providing evidence, yet you sit here and talk about a politician you disagree using derogatory chauvinistic remarks. That's pretty much the same as being racist. You of all people, coming here with your racism accusations, you should be embarrassed. I would think becoming a father of a girl would have gotten you to be a little more careful with your wording, but I guess not....I guess we are all racists for not voting Obama but it's all good to talk the way you do about women whose views you don't agree with......yea....very impressive Anton. Every post you impress me more and more. I can't wait for else you have in store for me. I don't see you making fun of 'how ugly' bush or any other 'conservative' .... so it seems that your disrespectful comments like this are simply limited to women politicians you disagree with. Which really makes you, guess what, a male chauvinist pig. Yea. You don't like that, do you? But at least I have good evidence. In another topic I noticed you also posted some derogatory remarks about Palin, which have nothing to do with what she says or believes in, but more of how she looks, dresses, etc. LAME....

Re: Judge blocks part of controversial Arizona immigration law
KGBMan:II - you seriously do not see how idiot she is ??
All the posts I wrote that I haven't really gotten this 'Palin'
experience you're referring to, did you think I was joking? I thought I
made my position clear. Yet you still ask if I am serious? Regarding
taking any of her speeches, yes, Egor and I already talked about that
(see above). just take any of her speech, and I mean any !!! take any question-answer dialog..... "gosh darn it, this beautiful country of ours...."
What is wrong with saying, "gosh darn it, this beautiful country of
ours.." I think this country is beautiful and I love it. Sorry
you have a problem with it. Maybe you feel this way about Russia. Good
for you.
Are you serious ?!?!?!?!?
Again you ask? Are you a drama queen? Yes, I am serious. If you still don't get it, let me explain again: I am not serious in such that I believe she is brilliant and smart. I am serious in the sense that I have not experienced seeing or hearing her say really stupid things like you say. I listened to some things she said during the VP campaign, which was OK with me, and a few times she was interviewed on talk radio by people like Sean Hannity. Again, in those cases she didn't say anything stupid or unreasonable. So, while I do not deny what you claim, I have not seen it for myself. So this is why I ask you to say exactly what it is that makes you think she is so stupid. Instead, Anton posts that she is 'dumb' yet he would 'fukc' her, and you just post a bunch of times "are you serious". Egor told me to google her stupidity, which I did, and indeed, I did find a bunch of rather dumb blunders, but yet I did the same for everyone else like Clinton, or Obama, Gore, etc. Egor acknowledged this beforehand but claimed that with Palin, it just happens more often. Ok, I don't know if that's true, but it may be. Still, it doesn't explain your or Anton's aggressive behavior toward her. do you really want me to google her speeches , post here and explain sentence by sentence ?!?!?
This has been covered by Egor and myself already. See the logic above. Now, the fact that I have to explain everything to you twice, when you could have just read what Egor and I discussed - does that qualify as 'stupidity' on the level of Palin? do you have any doubts that she never read one history book or one classic novel and even hasn't watch a Kubrick movie ??
Umm, let's see...not seeing a Kubrick movie makes one stupid or a bad leader/politician? Wow....what standards you have! And yes, I am certain Palin has read at least one history book and at least one classic novel (to answer your question directly).
she's the forrest gump of this generation - a white flag of all rednecks out there...
Forrest Gump was a success story, because he overcame a lot of difficulties, so I'm not sure if that is an insult or a compliment. I assume you meant it as an insult, which again takes us back to square 1. All I see from you is insults, over-dramatic statements (are you serious!???!?!?!!!!!!?????!!!?????!??), and like usual, par for the course, calling her a 'redneck', always a classic among Russians, when it's time to insult an American, always go for the 'redneck' term. It's easy, it sounds nice. It makes you feel good and puts a smile on your face. Hoorey for KGBman. Funny, I am not even defending this woman. All I am asking is for concrete evidence. The closest to that was Egor, but everyone else is just saying insults, sexist statements, etc. Is it so hard to back up what you think?

If there is sexism on my part, its on a more subconscious level, as certainly like to consider myself above that I do consider her more intelligent than Bush.. Not sure if that really puts a dent in the "sexist" argument.
And I agree that it is extremely time consuming to show any of what I am alleging, I actually started researching her old interview transcripts, but then abandoned it, because even my opinion that what she is saying is stupid, is highly subjective. So we all just have to stick by our gut feelings, and live with that I'll admit, I judge people very harshly in my own mind, and I cannot understand all the processes in my brain that take place to render that judgement . Like you and women in flip-flops
Nevertheless, one quick example of what made me initially dislike her (and I am not sure if this is her opportunism or lack of intellect), was that she had the McCain campaign (and the whole world) believing that she is strongly pro-life. And then, i think in the second Couric interview, when cornered on the issue, she stated that she does not support legal/criminal ramifications for those who have abortions, she only supports convincing women not to have abortions, and encourage adoptions. Which is in essence the position of the social center-center left, and is referred to in modern politics, as "pro choice". This obviously angered the McCain campaign who thought they were getting a social conservative based on her previous positions. And mind you, I actually agree with what she said in this instance 100%. I just never thought i was pro-life
Not knowing continents from countries, referring to federal departments that don't exist (e.g. "department of law"), etc. might seem like minor stuff, but i expect better even from everyday people of average intelligence. Which may be my own inadequacy
